A Midwest Manifesto - Proposal #349

The Midwest is America’s holy land. Made up of industrial landscapes and wide pastures––built upon a history of progress and development––it reflects the dynamism of the American project. Yet amongst a weakened economy and disdainful political dialogue based on outdated ideologies, the Midwest is in a unfortunate state of paralysis. The Midwest has become heavy-hearted––caught in the haze of a history that rests behind it and a future that stands uncertain before it. It is time for the Midwest to renew itself.

This manifest aims to promote a more democratic Midwest--one that capitalizes on both its heritage and new technologies to reclaim and renew its Politics, Economics, and Culture for a prosperous future.
